Dr. David Der


Dr. David Der immigrated from Hoiping, Guangdong Province, China as a "paper son" through Angel Island back in 1940. He first lived in San Francisco with family, and then moved to Oakland in the late 1940s. Dr. Der is a practicing physician, and was one of the key pioneers of Asian Health Services. Dr. Der is currently a community advisor for this Oral History Project.
