Henry ChangHenry Chang Jr. was born in the Guangdong Province of China in 1934. He immigrated to the United States in 1952 and attended U.C. Berkeley. He was attracted to Oakland Chinatown because of the Chinese restaurants. Henry is a long-time local architect who designed many buildings in Chinatown, including Silver Dragon Restaurant and the Hall of Pioneers. Most recently, he served as the City of Oakland's Councilmember At-Large and Vice Mayor.
